Support Beyond Pesticides Ohio Consider making a tax deductible donation to Beyond Pesticides Ohio. You can make a secure online donation by clicking on the following link https://secure.everyaction.com/nb80uJOkV0uJ5d0yaHjOGg2 We have accomplished so much by educating cities, schools and park districts on how to make communities safer for people, especially children, pets and the environment. This includes getting Cleveland Heights, South Euclid, Lakewood, University Circle and more to ban the use of pesticides on all public property. Recently we steered $25,000 grants to South Euclid and University Heights as part of Stonyfield Yogurts Play Free program. This project helps cities create safe, organic and healthy playing fields for children, families and pets. When Cuyahoga County passed their landmark ordinance banning lawn pesticides from all county owned land they did this to safeguard public health and also to encourage greater Cleveland communities to use this as a model. Indeed, this ordinance has been used as a model throughout the state and the nation. Most recently Philadelphia's Toxic Free Philly Campaign resulted in legislation banning pesticides on all public grounds. Huge Breakthrough. Recent multi million dollar jury awards for health damages (cancer) due to exposure to Monsanto's Roundup/Glyphosate is a game changer. Indeed, insurance companies are rethinking whether to continue insuring companies that produce pesticides. Indeed, through our Safe Lawn & Garden Campaign, people will learn that they do not have to rely on toxic herbicides to have healthy beautiful lawns. For more information on our accomplishments and services, please read our website. Beyond Pesticides Ohio is the only organization in the state that focuses exclusively on pesticide reform. We have had tremendous success in educating the public and public officials about the hazards of conventional pesticides and also in providing non-toxic, cost-effective, organic alternatives. |
